The forest is a living ecosystem, a complex network of connections between trees, the soil, and the inhabitants of this landscape. In Keihoku, a forested region north of Kyoto, I explored these connections through an artistic residency combining material, narratives, and creation.
My research was structured around three main themes:
‘L'appel de la forêt’ is an exhibition combining portraits, drawings and sculptures. It explores the relationship between the elements of this ecosystem and their interdependence. To extend this exploration, I propose a walk in the forest followed by a collective workshop. Together, we will collect fragments of the landscape and reinterpret them, allowing each participant to weave a personal connection with their environment.
